Niall Hatch is Head of Communications and Development with BirdWatch Ireland, Ireland’s largest wildlife conservation charity. A qualified solicitor, he is a graduate of University College Dublin and Cornell University, New York. A passionate birdwatcher since early childhood, he has travelled widely across six continents, both in search of birds and to assist with conservation and nature education projects and works closely with the BirdLife International partnership.

In addition to co-hosting the podcast In Your Nature with Ricky Whelan, Niall is the editor of BirdWatch Ireland’s membership magazine, Wings, and of its children’s magazine, Bird Detectives, and he appears regularly on radio and television to speak about birds and environmental topics. In addition to his work on RTÉ’s Mooney Goes Wild and the International Dawn Chorus, Niall has also served as scientific consultant on the RTÉ and EBU co-productions Nature Live, Back from the Brink and the BBC Radio 4 series Nature’s Great Invaders.
