Telling an environmental story

Come and be inspired by a series of lightning talks from local individuals and groups who will be telling their unique stories across a wide range of topics all relating to the environment.

Gráinne Clinton, Fenit Changing Tides, will share an amazing wildflower and pollination restoration story resulting in the discovery of the rare species of Large Carder Bee (Bombus muscorum) in the village. Hear how their meadow naturally attracted and addressed the bees specific needs and learn how you too can play a part in this conservation story.

Padraig McGillicuddy, Ballygarry Estate Hotel , will outline how they are transforming their business for a sustainable & environmentally friendly future, including the creation of an integrated constructed wetland, 5km of walkways, planting 29,000 trees, adding an apiary, rewilding the estate & working towards a carbon neutral hotel.

Padraig Sugrue, Belfield Christmas Trees will tell the story of how their farm went chemical free, hear how they replaced roundup with geese, nitrogen fertilizer with sheep wool and other novel solutions that allows them to keep their trees and soil healthy.
